The Ugly Truth poster

The poster for the Ugly Truth shows the two main characters, it reveals to the audience that they are also well known stars 'Katherine Heigl' and 'Gerard Butler', this immedietly attracts audience members as they love these stars in other movies and associate them as brilliant actors. The black line going down the middle of the poster splitting them apart shows that this is about the differences about how men and woman behave and what they think about. Hvaing the woman on the left holding her heart in her hand by her head shows the audience that she is soft and into romance. Her smile shows that her character is lovely and friendly all about knowledge and closeness. Whears having the man on the right holding his heart lower down on his body reveals that his character is more about having a good time and isn't worried about committment. His sly smile gives the impression that his character is cheeky and will add humour to the film. The title appears near the bottom of the poster but is clearly visible so that the audience can see it, it is in black font to match the rest of the poster as the two main colours are black and red. The colour Red is an emotionally intense colour representing love, passion and strength which is a key part in the poster as it gives the audience a indication as to what the two main people will experience. The colour black represents mystery and the unknown which juztaposes the colour Red however it leaves an enigma for the audience as they anticipate the unknown between the two people how will they meet, what will happen in the film.
