The Next Karate Kid (1994) Film Trailer

The Next Karate Kid trailer shows the female lead practicing with her teacher, the intertitles appear on screen telling the audience the key skills you need for karate. They appear on screen and then the trailer shows a quick clip of her doing that skill. It is different to the other karate kids as it is about a girl who wants to learn karate this is the unique selling point for the trailer, however the trailer doesn't show the audience much of the plot as it is mainly about the skills you need, the only bits that explain the plot are right at the end when she kicks a man and then she performs a move and some barrels explode for me this is a bad trailer.

It leaves too many enigma's for the audience as it is confusing to know what is actually going on. It doesn't show any other characters apart from two guys who you see briefly and it doesn't show you how they all meet and what significance they have to the story line. The barrels exploding at the end only show the audience that a fight scene happens, but they already expect a fight scene from the title Karate Kid. The genre of the film is revealed through the use of the intertitles and the explosion at the end, it shows the audience that it is an action, however the traier does not play to the strengths of it being an action it should show more fighting between the girl and other people rather than explaining some techniques you need to perform moves. The camera shots are mainly mid-shots and close-ups of the girl this is to show all her moves she has learnt and her in training encouraging the audience to watch the film as it has action in it.
