Teen Wolf Trailer!!
The trailer for teen wolf immediately tells the audience that the genre is a fantasy, this is shown through the use of music/ sound effects of a wolf howling when the first intertitle appears on screen. The intertitle at the beginning is small and is not effective as the audience have to look closely to figure out what it says. This does not promote the institution well as not many audience members will take note of what it said. The trailer uses the main character as the unique selling point as he is played by 'Michael J. FOX' this intrigues the audience to watch the film as he is the star of a successful film 'Back to the future'. Many people who love Back to the future would want to watch the film as he is attracting many fans of the film but also his appearance may attract some girls to watch. However for me the trailer does not create a sense of enigma because all the plot is given away throughout as it shows him at school where no one notices him to then becoming a wolf and then him getting all the girls. At the beginning you see a close up of him, it then pans to show someone on the opposing basketball team knocking him over showing that he is weak and picked on by the others. This reveals to the audiece that although he plays basketball he is not popular. The next camera shot is a close-up on a girl and then it quickly pans to a mid-shot of him opening a locker trying to grab a book that falls out showing to the audience that he gets nervous around girls. From the start the camera shots allow the audience to anticipate that he may become popular somehow and the title of the film 'Teen Wolf' is an indicator of how.
